I am a qualified Sports and Rehabilitation massage practitioner. I completed my training at Oxford-based Pulse Training Solutions (www.pulsetrainingsolutions.co.uk) and am a member of both the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (www.theisrm.com) and the Sports Massage Association (www.thesma.org ). I am also registered as a massage practitioner with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (www.cnhc.org.uk).
My initial training involved over 100 hours of massage, as well as over 160 contact teaching hours, and since qualifying I have continued to work with a wide variety of clients on an individual basis as well as carrying out massage at events such as the London Marathon. In addition, I work three days a week at an osteopath's clinic in Reading (www.harrisonclinic.co.uk), allowing me access to a shared knowledge base from a wide variety of practitioners as well as allowing me to meet an even broader range of clients
I became interested in sports massage during my own training for the 2006 UK Ironman triathlon and found that a weekly massage session allowed me to train harder and more effectively. I have since completed other endurance events including the 2009 Marathon des Sables, the 2010 Ultra trail tour du Mont Blanc, the 2011 South Downs Way ultra, the Thames Path Ultra, the Devon coast to coast adventure race and the Lands End to John O’Groats cycle and have felt the benefits of massage on my own sporting ambitions. Latterly I have also taken on the Trail Running Association's Ridgeway Challenge. I completed the hilly 85 mile run in 21 hours to achieve 25th place overall and claim first place in my age group.
My work as a massage therapist sees me help people based throughout Berkshire, but my clinic in Streatley particularly caters for clients in Streatley, Goring, Pangbourne, Wallingford and Reading.
