Endurance athlete with Achilles tendonitis

JM is an age group triathlete who has previously competed in several Ironman distance races as well as marathon running events. However, latterly his training has suffered as a result of a persistent Achilles tendon problem.

We were able to assess the muscle imbalance in his legs causing the problem, treat the affected area and allow JM to build his training distances back up again. The increased training was balanced by a regular massage which meant that the problem has not flared again and JM is now on target for a personally challenging year doubling up the London Marathon and the UK Ironman triathlon.

"Jeremy - Just thought you'd be interested to know that for the first time in ages I had a good relaxed run on Monday. Did a 5 mile tempo run, keeping my HR below threshold, and ran at spot on 7 min/mile pace. Felt as though I could have gone quicker and had to hold back on the hill to keep the HR down. Definitely feel the massage and stretching are making a difference." JM
